Worship

“...a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."  John 4:23-24 (NIV)

God is less concerned with where his people worship than how they worship.  We believe true worship occurs when God's people sincerely call on him in prayer, joyfully praise him for his goodness and grace, and diligently seek to learn and obey his Word because of their faith in Jesus. Worship is not so much an event as it is living daily with an awareness that the presence of God graciously touches every part of our lives. That is worshiping God in spirit and in truth!

Generation Church worships together in a house-church setting. This allows us the wonderful freedom of broad participation, interactive teaching, sharing and reflection, uplifting music, prayer, and exercising the gifts given to us by the Spirit.  While we believe the Bible's teaching that everything in the church should be done in an orderly way, we don't believe that means having an 'order of worship' or having everything we do orchestrated to the point that even the Holy Spirit finds it hard to change our plans. When we gather together, we call on Jesus, the true head of the Church, to lead our gatherings in whatever direction that pleases God and accomplishes His purposes.
